Ogden Nature Center's Winter Photo Contest WINNERS


OGDEN AREA PHOTOGRAPHERS WIN NATURE CENTER'S FIRST WINTER PHOTO CONTEST

Area photographers braved cold and snow to focus on nature in the Ogden Nature Center's first Winter Photo Contest. Participants from age 8 to adult submitted entries in each of in two categories - general nature center shots and photos of the center's resident animals.  All photos were taken during the month of January.

Ogden photographers Steve Conlin and Larry Carr joined Stefanie Miller, Ogden Nature Center Education Director, in choosing the winners from 48 entries in two age groups. The winners were announced at a reception at the nature center on Saturday, Feb. 4.  The Imaging Depot, of Ogden, and Wild Bird Center of Layton donated prizes for the winners. All of the entries will remain on display through February in the nature center's L.S. Peery Education Building.

The winners are:

General Nature shots, Age 8-15:
1st Place: Marco Uribe, 9, Ogden
2nd Place: LaDeitra Hobson, 11, Ogden
3rd Place: Evangelina Vigil, 9, Ogden

General Nature shots, Age 16-adult:
1st Place: Colette Albretson, Pleasant View
2nd Place: Scott Kelley, Clinton
3rd Place: John Babcock, Eden
 
Resident Animals, Age 8-15:
1st Place: Kevana Hobson, 8, Ogden
2nd Place: Ashton Code, 12, North Ogden
3rd Place: Brooke Barnes, 13, Syracuse
 
Resident Animals, Age 16-adult:
1st Place: Jerel Olson, Ogden
2nd Place: Scott Kelley, Clinton
3rd Place: Sharon McGinnis, Taylor
