14 Utah Fall Date Night Ideas

UtahFallDateNightIdeas

Our list of “14 Utah Winter Date Night Ideas” was so popular, we decided to follow it up with a list of date nights you can do in the Fall.

Is your favorite Fall date night not on the list? Leave us a comment below and let us know what your favorite Fall date night is!

Painting With A Twist
We got to experience Painting With A Twist for the first time this last year, and love it! One of our readers said that it was “the best date night they’ve ever had in ten years of marriage!” No artistic ability is needed; only the willingness to try something new and have fun! The instructor will guide you through creating your masterpiece step by step, and because each painting turns out different, there is no right or wrong way to paint it! Read our reviews of Painting With A Twist, and Family Painting Day. You can view the class schedule on the Painting With A Twist website, or follow them on Facebook.

Take a Hike
Fall is my favorite time for hiking. For your Fall date night, pack a picnic lunch or dinner, and venture out onto one of Utah’s beautiful hiking trails. Utah Valley Family Adventures shared with us their Favorite Utah Hiking Trails, as well as the follow-up to that post, More Favorite Hikes. Some of my favorites include Red Butte Garden, Nobletts, and Ensign Peak. The Fairy Forest is also magical, and a great place to take a Fall hike/walk for a day-long date.

Ghost Tour
Fall is the spookiest time of year, and what better time to take a ghost tour?! Grimm Ghost Tours offers a few different options for experiencing “the other side” of Salt Lake City: Old Town Tour, Outer Reaches Tour, SLC Cemetery Tour, and Paranormal Investigations. Read our reviews and watch two short videos about the Old Town Tour and the Paranormal Investigations. We also love Park City Ghost Tours, which takes you on a guided tour up and down old historic Main Street in Park City. You can also read our review and watch a video about Park City Ghost Tours. You could also attend a Ghostbusters class through Granite Peaks, or the Ghosts Of Camp Floyd tour in October.

Dance Classes
Taking a dance class is a fun way to spend a Fall date night. DF Dance Studio, Utah Ballroom Dance, and Studio Azul are great places for beginning dancers to start. There is a Utah Dance Workshop coming up on September 28, 2013, and all the money raised from that event will go to help children and their families who suffer from rare neurological disorders.

Live Theatre
The Fall lineup for plays and live theatre in Utah is amazing! Our favorite places for live theatre are The Empress Theatre, Hale Center Theatre, Peery’s Egyptian Theatre, The Grand Theatre at SLCC, and Draper Historic Theatre. We also love The Tuacahn in St George. Thriller by Odyssey Dance Theater is a very popular performance this time of year, and they have seven different locations they are performing at.

Historic Train Ride
Experience history aboard a historic train, right here in Utah. The Heber Valley Railroad has many different train excursions to choose from this year, including 114th anniversary, Magic Train, Pumpkin Festival and Chocolate Lovers Train. You can view their complete lineup and schedule on the Heber Valley Railroad website.

Apple Picking
Get outdoors and spend an afternoon together picking apples at the Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway. Dress for the weather, grab a bucket, and pick apples! More information here.

Full Moon Lift Rides
If you are looking for a romantic evening date idea, the Full Moon Lift Rides at Sundance are a great option. Full schedule of dates and times can be found on the Sundance Resort website. They also offer Halloween Lift Rides closer to Halloween.

Haunted House
Leave the kids at home and get scared out of your mind at one of many Utah haunted houses. Lagoon even offers Frightmares, where you can enjoy the spookier side of Lagoon while enjoying thrilling amusement park rides. Read our reviews from last year on Scared Haunt For Charity, Strangling Bros. Haunted Circus, Nightmare on 13th and Fear Factory. Stay tuned for reviews of haunted houses for this year!

View The Fall Leaves
I believe Utah’s most beautiful season is Fall. There are so many places in Utah to see the Fall leaves, but one of the most magical ways to experience the Fall leaves is with a hot air balloon ride above Park City. Read through our list of best places to view the Fall leaves in Utah.

Hay ride
Fall is a great time to experience a romantic hayride. Many different places in Utah offer hayrides, but our favorites are Park City, Rowley’s Red Barn in Santaquin, and the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville (close to Logan).

Haunted Forest Zombie Warz
Newly discovered this year is the Haunted Forest Zombie Wars. Climb aboard the Zombie Assault Vehicle, and head out into the forest to search for a hunt down zombies. Zombies are not armed, but they are dangerous, and will try to eat you. Shoot them with your paintball gun before it’s too late! Complete details can be found on their website. View a short video at the bottom of this post.

Rock Climbing
You don’t need to head up to the mountains for a rock climbing experience. There are many places that offer indoor rock climbing adventures. Our friends at Indie Ogden love The Front Climbing Club, and they even have a date night card special. Call them at (801) 393-7625 for complete details.

Bike Ride
A fun and simple date night idea is a bike ride. In downtown Salt Lake City, there is no need to have your own bike; look for a GreenBike SLC Bike Share Station location. They are all over downtown, or you can plan ahead and check out the map. Grab a bike, ride around the town, and return it to any station when you are through. If you have your own bike, you can check out this list of recommended bike trails by Tour de Cure rider Patrick Sisk.

Don’t forget: When you are out having fun on your Utah Fall Date Night, don’t forget to tag your social media photos with #EnjoyUtah so that we can add them to our album!
