Holiday Gift and Party Items At Deseret Industries

Christmas is a week away, and it's getting down to the wire on buying Christmas gifts! I went to Deseret Industries to see what I could find for those white elephant gifts I need to bring to upcoming holiday parties, and actually found a lot more ideas as well!

New Furniture While most of the items sold at Desert Industries are used items donated by people in the community, the D.I. does have a collection of brand new furniture. The quality selection is sold in good, bettter, and best. They have dining table and chairs, bunk beds, adult size beds and much more.
Games We love the game Mouse Trap, but the set that we had was missing parts. We recently found Mouse Trap in the game section at Deseret Industries, and with the pieces from the D.I. set we were able to make our set a complete game that we were able to play again. You can also find a lot of old classic games from your childhood, which would make a perfect nostalgic White Elephant gift.

Collectors Items Deseret Industries gets a lot of collectors items donated that people don't realize the true value of. You can find these items locked in a glass case in the back of the D.I., and is a great place to look for those nostalgic hard to find items. 

Craft Items Many Christmas and holiday crafts you find on Pinterest call for broken China, or random pieces of assorted mugs. You definitely don't want to use your matching set that you pull out when company comes, so the D.I. is the perfect place to pick up a bunch of these items for super cheap. My sister made my grandma a really cute candle holder made from old mugs a few years ago, and found the pieces she needed to make the craft at Deseret Industries.

White Elephant Gifts The D.I. is full of all those fun, nostalgic items that make you smile or laugh when you see them. White Elephant gifts are a requirement for many company and family parties, and Deseret Industries is the perfect place to pick something up without spending a ton of money. I came across this Shrinky Dink machine, which was one of my favorite things to do when I was a child, so of course I grabbed it to give away at one of our upcoming parties. 

"Ugly" Christmas Sweaters Ugly Sweater Parties are all the rage right now, and Deseret Industries has a huge selection of sweaters to choose from. You don't want to spend a ton of money buying a new sweater that you'll only wear once, so head to your closest Deseret Industries and check out their selection. We also participated in an Ugly Sweater 5k Run this year, and the D.I. was our go-to place for buying our sweaters for that as well.
