Wild Wednesdays -- Going Green: A Special St. Patrick’s Day Program
Wednesday, March 12 at 3:45 pm
Free for ONC members
$2 children / $3 seniors / $4 adults
All ages welcome

Green is the theme for the Ogden Nature Center’s St. Patrick’s Day program. Get your green on and discover why so many things in nature are green. Go on a scavenger hunt around the nature preserve searching for all things green. You’ll be amazed at what you can find! Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Documentary Film Screening: Garbage Warrior
Friday, March 14 from 6:30 - 9 pm, film starting at 7 pm
Cost: Free
Ages: 14+ (for language in the film)

What do beer cans, car tires and water bottles have in common? For Michael Reynolds they are the tools of choice for producing thermal mass and energy-independent housing. In this award-winning 2007 documentary by director Oliver Hodge, follow Michael Reynolds on his quest to pursue the radically sustainable Earthship building concept in Taos, New Mexico. The concept of “earthship biotecture” is described as building self-sufficient, off-the-grid communities where design and function converge in eco-harmony. Cost: $5 per scout / per program

The Ogden Nature Center provides the perfect outdoor classroom for scout activities. Have an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist help your scout pass off badge requirements during a 45-minute class. Reservations and a non refundable deposit required. Please RSVP to 801-621-7595. Spring Gardening Workshop

$8 members / $10 non-members
Ages: adults

Come spend two, information-packed hours with expert plantsman Barney Barnett from Willard Bay Gardens. Barney will teach about plant choices including annuals, perennials, grasses, water-wise plants, trees and shrubs. You’ll also learn about soil, water, bed preparation and planting schedules. Barney will cover the basics and answer questions to help your garden bloom beautifully this year. Please RSVP to 801-621-7595 by Wednesday, March 12.

Come learn about one of the smartest groups of birds in the world—corvids. Listen to a true tale about a special raven and then meet the Ogden Nature Center’s most curious and playful raven, Cronk. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Party For Ogden’s Outside! / A Love Utah, Give Utah Event

The community is invited to “Party For Ogden’s Outside!” as part of the statewide, Love Utah, Give Utah day of giving! Bring a friend and enjoy appetizers and music in Rooster’s atrium, make an outdoorsy hat and donate to the Ogden Nature Center and/or Weber Pathways. If you appreciate open space, trails, nature education, wildlife and preservation, this is a great chance to get involved and share your passion. Come show your love for Ogden’s Outside! No RSVP required.

Wild Wednesdays -- Signs of Spring

Spring has arrived at the Ogden Nature Center! Help bring in the new season and learn how animals and plants adapt to warmer temperatures and longer days. We’ll hit the trails and look for signs of spring. Be prepared to hear chorus frogs and keep an eye out for migrating birds. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Volunteer Planting Day
Saturday, March 29 at 9 am

Sign up to plant hundreds of bare-root stock including chokecherry, snowberry, and hawthorn, at the Ogden Nature Center. This is a great project for families and groups. For more info. contact Jenny Frame at 801-621-7595 or volunteer@ogdennaturecenter.org.

Spring Kundalini Yoga Classes
8 week session -- Mondays, March 31 through May 19 from 6:30 – 7:45 pm
$45 members / $50 nonmembers
Ages: Adults

This Kundalini Yoga class is ideal for beginner/intermediate and for those who want a gentle Kundalini practice. Bring your own yoga mat and blanket. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and we recommend not eating for at least one hour before class. Taught by instructor Bruce Fisk. Please pre-register by calling 801-621-7595.
