We heard about this scavenger hunt yesterday on the Utah State Parks Facebook page and Twitter feed, and are so super excited to participate! We are already signed up. Because it runs June 1 – Aug 31, 2013, It sounds like the PERFECT Summer activity!
Here are the details from the Utah State Parks Scavenger Hunt Contest Page:
The Utah State Parks State Of Adventure contest is an interactive online scavenger hunt contest designed to give USP patrons a new opportunity to explore the parks, while earning gear and free passes for next year. The State of Adventure contest incorporates all 43 state parks with challenges at each location to give users as many options as possible.
The contest format is as follows –
To enter, contestants must register on the contest page using the entry form.
From then on they will take tasks from either the interactive map or this list, complete them, and then submit their evidence.
On June 1st, the challenges will go live. A submission form will become available on the map page, and each state park on the map will be clickable to reveal the challenges at this park (the tasks will also be added to this form for an easy, printable list.) Your challenge is to go to the respective parks, complete the challenges, and submit your results for points.
Sharing your contest entry with friends (either by clicking the share button after you enter, or by clicking “share” next to your entry on the leaderboard) makes you eligible to earn extra points. Each friend that signs up for the contest via your link gives you one more point towards the contest up to 10 points.
Throughout the competition we will be updating standings every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5pm MT. There will be prizes for the most tasks completed each month, and over the entirety of the competition. The Grand Prizes (awarded to those with the most complete at the end of the competition in August) are Annual passes to all USP parks for the 2013-2014 season
Throughout the contest we will also be holding random daily challenges asking competitors to complete small tasks for more points. These might include local parks, things to do at home, or questions to answer.
More than giving away prizes, our goal is to promote the parks and get people outside and exploring. Take your time, enjoy what is around you, and visit us again!

ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to legal residents of their respective countries where not prohibited by law, who are
eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry who have Internet access and a valid e-mail account prior to the beginning of the Contest Period. Sponsor has the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant.
