Be A Scientist! Utah Museum Of Natural History

Be a Scientist!

Not only can you see thousands of real natural history objects and meet real scientists when you visit the Museum, you can find out what it's like to be a scientist yourself while you explore the Museum's coolest hands-on activities.

Activities include extracting DNA from a pea, excavating a pit house, pressing plants, creating a poem for the Poetree, and interpreting dinosaur tracks, and are all based upon the same techniques our curators and research teams use in the field.

Discovery Hall Activities are approrpriate for people of any age and take place on the every  Saturday from Noon to 3:00 p.m. in the Discovery Hall.
