Family Fun Night: Neighborhood House hosts its annual “Prince and Princess Ball” on the eve of St. Valentine’s Day. Children and families will be encouraged to dress up as their favorite princes/princesses and enjoy a free spaghetti dinner, Valentine’s crafts, dancing, music, dessert, and a photo booth. The Ball will start at 5PM on Thursday, February 13th at 1050 W 500 S in Salt Lake City.
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH — Neighborhood House, a non-profit organization committed to providing quality, affordable day care and support services to children and adults based on their ability to pay, is excited to announce its February Family Fun Night, a themed Valentine’s ball for families and friends of Neighborhood House. Features include a free dinner, followed by desert, a photo booth with costume props, a craft room for making memories, and free fun for the whole family.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our families a different way to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” says Education and Training Manager, Shannon Jensen. “We hope our clients enjoy this opportunity to dress up and enjoy a ‘fancy’ night out together.”
The event begins with a short but elegant “star-lit” walk to the “Royal Riverside Palace” from the main Neighborhood House building. Following a free, homemade spaghetti dinner, the ‘palace’ will host a live DJ to play music for the costumed dancers. Other activities will include making personalized Valentine’s Day cards, posing with props and costume pieces at a photo both, and finishing off the night with a sweet dessert. Neighborhood House is also fortunate to have helpful and enthusiastic volunteers from Woods Cross High School available to play and dance with children, assist with the free photo booth, serve dinner, and help in our craft room.
As with all Family Fun Nights, the Valentine’s Day Prince and Princess Ball provides busy parents an opportunity to eat and play with their children, allowing for freedom from stress concerning babysitting fees, transportation, and dinner. However, this costumed event will also provide children with an opportunity to dress up and “go out” for Valentine’s Day – not to mention build memorable keepsakes with many a photo opportunity. For 120 years, the services of Neighborhood House have helped families address the care, educational, and social needs of loved ones. Neighborhood House is the state’s oldest and largest nonprofit provider of care services; nearly 500 individuals are directly served at Neighborhood House on an annual basis, by way of a sliding fee scale.
