Fall means back to school time for the kids, but it can also mean back to school time for mom and dad! It’s never too late to learn a new skill and gain knowledge. Below are a few classes we have found that you don’t want to miss out on this Fall!
Utah Ghost Towns and Abandoned MinesAt once eerie and historical, picturesque and mysterious, Utah's ghost towns and abandoned mines are among the most plentiful in the West. Basic Home Repair
Nervous to tackle basic home repair? Most people are nervous to tackle those pesky problems until they find out how simple it really is! Our handy-man instructor teaches how simple some repairs can be. Fix those problems before they become too big and costly. This hands-on class includes drywall repair, shingle replacement, plumbing repair (fixture replacement and stopping leaks), tile and grout, basic electrical and paint touch-up. Learn the steps through practical hands-on experience. Register on the Granite Peaks website.

Sign up for the Summer flower arranging class conducted by The Grand America’s own in-house florist. Seasonal flowers will be sourced from a local farmer and you will be taught the basics of arranging flowers in the beauty of the Sussex Meeting room located on the 3rd floor of The Grand, with balconies overlooking the center courtyard. Following the class, you will enjoy traditional English tea served in the Lobby Lounge.

Autumn Colors Painting ClassWe'll be offering wine education and tasting with this class. It will be an additional $5 at the door if you are interested. Utah law states that you must be 21 years old or older to attend this class whether tasting or not.PLEASE NOTE that Painting With A Twist classes are NOT serious art lessons, but are intended for you to RELAX, HAVE FUN, and leave with an AWESOME piece of artwork!

We save the last class for the best of the fall harvest, creating lovely giftable jars to share with friends over the holidays, or bring some zing to your spring. Onions, green tomatoes, beans, and more will stuff our jars using a water bath canner.
The Best of the Last workshop is part of our Summer in a Jar series of canning events. Class offered through Wasatch Community Gardens.
