Salt Lake City, UT (June 13, 2013)—Smashburger, the nation’s fastest-growing “better burger” restaurant, will bring its fresh approach to Midvale when it opens its new location on Wednesday, June 26th, at 7020 Union Park Ave. Smashburger’s juicy burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious, along with shakes, tempting sides and regional menu items crafted to please local’s palates. This is the fifth Smashburger to open in Utah.

Currently, Smashburger has four locations in Utah including Sugarhouse, West Jordan, Provo and Salt Lake International Airport. Each Utah Smashburger features a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind. The Utah menu includes the Beehive Burger and Beehive Chicken Sandwich. Made with fresh, never frozen 100% Certified Angus Beef®, the handcrafted Beehive Burger is smashed, seared and topped with honey BBQ sauce, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and haystack onions on an egg bun. Similarly topped, the Beehive Chicken can be ordered grilled or crispy.

“We designed our menu to allow for regionally-inspired adaptation,” says Smashburger Founder & Chief Concept Officer, Tom Ryan. “This means we can localize parts of our menu to include items with regional flavors and ingredients, such as the Beehive Burger in Utah and Sin City in Las Vegas.”

At Smashburger, the secret is in the smash.  It starts with 100-percent fresh, never frozen, Angus Beef and is smashed on a 400 degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the delicious burgers are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and highest-quality condiments.

Smashburger’s signature recipes and create-your-own burgers are smashed fresh, served delicious every time. But Smashburger is more than just burgers. Customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, grilled and split hot dogs, and fresh tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries, fried pickles, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of non-alcoholic beverage including hand-spun shakes and IBC® root-beer floats in frosted mugs.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the Beehive state,” says David Prokupek, Chairman & CEO of Smashburger. “More Utahns will see that we are not your typical burger concept. We offer better burgers in a more modern and exciting atmosphere.”

  1. Rick Schaden seems to be expanding Smashburger, I can't say that I'm complaining.
