7 Holiday Essentials with Trolley Square (and a GIVEAWAY!)

2015-11-17 20.46.31

Last year I did a majority of my holiday shopping at Trolley Square, so this year that’s exactly where I kicked off my shopping this week.

Below are seven holiday essentials you need when doing your holiday shopping:

Local Products:

I am a huge advocate for supporting local businesses. At Trolley Square, you’ll find that many of their shops are unique to Utah. One of my favorite local finds this year was Cosset Bath & Body. Their products are made from local products, and are free from harmful chemicals. The salt used to make their products is directly from the Great Salt Lake. Many of their products are also made from Utah’s local doTerra Essential Oils.

I ended up purchasing a tube full of their bath bombs. The tube is refillable and you get a discount each time you bring it back and purchase more. One of the bath bombs had a surprise toy inside when it dissolved, which is just the right stocking stuffer for my kids!

NOTE: Swagenger has an ongoing scavenger hunt on their Instagram account, and Cosset is one of the participating places where you can earn credits! Visit Swagenger for complete details.

Cherished Traditions:

One of our favorite traditions at our house is our Christmas train. I was excited to see that The Train Shoppe had opened at Trolley Square this year. They have train pieces that you can add to your current  collection, or start this fun tradition with somebody else by purchasing them their first starter piece that they can also add to year after year.

The Fun Gift:

My absolute favorite store at Trolley Square for those fun, quirky gifts is Cabin Fever. I was so excited last year to find that they had Krampus gifts. My husband likes to teach our kids about holiday traditions around the world, and the legend of Krampus is one of those traditions that they learned about a few years ago. Ithas been one of the most memorable traditions they’ve learned about from around the world. Of course with the new Krampus movie coming out on December 4th, more people are familiar with the legend and will be delighted to see all the new Krampus products this year at Cabin Fever.

12190030_966049730124190_1765337499171419277_nThey also have a large collection of Star Wars gifts, which is on mostly every family’s Christmas list this year in anticipation for the new Star Wars movie coming out on December 18th.

At Cabin Fever you can also find gag gifts, greeting cards, 2016 calendars, the popular Bean Boozled challenge, the 80s candy Razzles as seen on the chick flick 13 Going On 30, silly books, and much more!

Chatting with the staff at Cabin Fever is just as much fun as the products located there! They are always helpful when trying to find the perfect gift for the fun person in your life, and are always happy and cheerful.

Books:

Weller Book Works is a reader’s paradise, and one of my favorite stores there. They have a large collection of new and used books, as well as rare and hard to find books. This is the store that I could spend hours in, and you’re sure to find a gift for the book lover on your list. Last year we even purchased one of our favorite family games at Weller Book Works.

Something to make you feel good:

When I am looking for that perfect holiday outift, Spark is the first store at Trolley Square that I head to. Last year I purchased a warm winter skirt, and this year I am super excited about my cozy sweater dress that I can dress up with a pair of heels and jewelry, or dress down with a pair of leggings and boots. The staff there is also very helpful, and the sales associate went above and beyond in helping me find the right size even though he had to search through the back inventory to find it.

My daughter found a darling warm white sweater for her perfect holiday outfit at American Apparel. I also love Lululemon for that perfect workout clothes that always make me feel better, or taking a fitness class at OrangeTheory Fitness or CorePower Yoga.

Food:

Two of my favorite restaurants, Rodizio Grill and The Old Spaghetti Factory, are both located at Trolley Square. I have not yet been to Desert Edge Brewery “The Pub” but have only heard good things about it. Gift cards for dining are always a great gift, on Black Friday Rodizio will have a gift card special going on. Contact the store with questions and more specific details, or follow them on Facebook.

  1. Seriously, if you haven't tried the French Onion soup at the Pub you HAVE to get it while you're shopping at Trolley Square. Even if you're not shopping, stop by, it's the best I've had anywhere in the country over the nearly 20 years my wife and I have eaten there.

  13. I host a donation drive I call Operation Christmas Pajamas, two years in a row. We collect new, warm pajamas and small gifts and give them to local families going through hard times. This year I'm giving them to my local Children's Justice Center as well. It's a meaningful new tradition that has not only helped children and families, but has allowed me to interact with a lot of the community members. It's definitely been a fun experience!

  15. Spaghetti Factory is such a great place to eat. The service at Trolley is better than the Tville location. I also love the Santa set up each year at Trolley. Best in the state in my opinion.
