Camp Floyd State Park: Christmas In The Night Time Sky

CAMP FLOYD STATE PARK TO CELEBRATE
CHRISTMAS IN THE NIGHT TIME SKY

Camp Floyd State Park and Lantis Fireworks & Lasers are hosting a Christmas in the Night Time Sky event on December 1, 2012. The event will begin with an open house art exhibit by Mary Ann Judd Johnson. An artist and an educator, Johnson has been painting for over 35 years. Today, some of her paintings hang in the American Fork City Hall, Hutchings Museums, and now the Fairfield District Schoolhouse. Mary has painted the homes in Fairfield and has donated 22 paintings to Camp Floyd State Park. She will attend the open house which will run from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. at the Fairfield District Schoolhouse.

Lantis Fireworks and Lasers is proud to support their local community and looks forward to entertaining guests. Join Lantis for great food, a visit from Santa and a fantastic fireworks show! The festivities at Lantis will begin at 5 p.m. with a fireworks display at 7:30 p.m. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to a local charity.

Established in 1858, Camp Floyd housed the largest concentration of U.S. troops then in the United State. The troops were sent to Utah to suppress a rumored Mormon rebellion, which never took place. The army was recalled back east in 1861 for the Civil War emergency.

Camp Floyd State Park is located in the town of Fairfield, 22 miles southwest of Lehi on State Highway 73. For more information, please contact the park at: 801-768-8932.
