Valley City, Utah – Los Angeles Kings forward and Utah native Trevor Lewis would
like to invite everyone to the Maverik Center, the home of the Utah Grizzlies,
on Thursday, August 30 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. to help him celebrate with the
Stanley Cup.
11 a.m. – 12 p.m. will be a private meet and greet for invited guests. The event will open for the general public at noon to help Lewis celebrate with the cup.
During the afternoon, the public will have the opportunity to meet Lewis and take photos with him and the cup. In addition, several other events will be ongoing at the arena as the Grizzlies host a kickoff to the 2012-2013 hockey season. There will be a dunk tank in which local ECHL linesmen will be participating; a puck shoot and a roller hockey rink will be set up in the Maverik Center parking lot. Food will be available and live music will be emceed by Jimmy Chunga from 101.9 The End.
Lewis, the first from Utah to have his name inscribed on the cup, raised the trophy with his Kings teammates at Staples Center in June following a four games to two series victory over the New Jersey Devils. Each player from the championship team gets to spend 24 hours with the Stanley Cup.
The Stanley Cup will be on display at Maverik Center for the first time since it toured the ECHL and appeared at a Grizzlies game on Thanksgiving evening of 2005. (November 24, 2005)
