Keep your kids entertained at Discovery Gateway during Winter Break
Discovery Gateway has something new to do EVERY DAY during the winter break. We’re open seven days a week, with an early close on Christmas Eve, and full museum closure on Christmas Day.
In addition to the museum’s daily Early Childhood, Art and Science programming, we’re partnered with Zaniac for a one-of-a-kind family robotics workshop that gets children excited about STEM by teaching them real world applications for math and science. The workshop, designed for children in 1st-5th grade, teaches robotics concepts through hands-on learning, and will cover robotics programming, fun and cool uses of robots and how to use their different motors and sensors. Parents will join their children for a two hour workshop and collaborate with their kids on LEGO® Robotics activities.
Guests can choose between two sessions: 12:00 pm-2:00 pm, or 3:00 pm-5:00 pm. Space is limited and online registration is required at DiscoveryGateway.org. Workshop fees are $20 per family for Discovery Gateway members and $30 per family for non-members. Up to six family members can attend a session for the registration price. Children must be six years of age or older.
We’re also entertaining the kids on Dec. 27 with “The Littlest Elf” puppet show at 11:30, and a Ronald McDonald Magic Show at 11:15 am & 12:30 pm. Both activities are included with admission, as are all Curiosity Shop, Science and Art Classes.
Discovery Gateway is participating in the family-friendly EVE Winter Fest celebration Dec. 29-31. Each three-day pass to EVE includes admission to several downtown SLC venues, including Discovery Gateway, where we’ll host a Noon Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31 from 11 am – 3 pm, as well as cultural programming from 4 pm – 7 pm designed to introduce children to New Year’s Eve traditions from around the world. Visit EVEslc.com for passes & information.
Discovery Gateway is making it easier – and more affordable – than ever to visit with its $35 3-month 3-person membership sale, going on now through Dec. 31. Don’t miss the opportunity for unlimited visits now through March 31. Memberships can be purchased in-person or online at DiscoveyGateway.org. (Each additional person is $10)
