Wild Wednesdays: Endangered and Threatened in Utah

Come celebrate the summer solstice at the Ogden Nature Center.  Find out why some days are longer than others. With the help of a few live animals, discover how animals and plants, including humans, adjust to the long days of summer.  Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Buzz on over to the Ogden Nature Center to learn about Utah’s bees. Over 900 species of bees call Utah home. Find out what makes bees so special and why we need them buzzing around. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Free R.A.M.P. Summer Saturdays
The Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer, June 7 – August 23.
Activities led by a teacher naturalist will be held at 10 am and at 2 pm every Saturday.  Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more.  Just show up and have fun!  Please check in at the Visitor Center front desk.

Outdoor Summer Concerts
The outdoor concerts at the Ogden Nature Center combine gorgeous sunsets and an unrivaled outdoor setting with lively, fresh musicians!  Pack a picnic, bring low-rise chairs or a blanket, and get ready for fabulous summer nights at the Ogden Nature Center. 
Thursday, June 12, Run Boy Run, concert at 7 pm, gates open at 6 pm
Run Boy Run‘s all-acoustic format blends bluegrass, folk and the old-timey American vernacular with touches of classical and jazz.  A happy blend of tradition and the musical frontier.  Take a listen at http://www.runboyrunband.com/videos

Nature Craft at the Ogden Arts Festival
Saturday, June 14 from 2-6
Come make a colorful nature print on bandanas at the Ogden Arts Festival.  We will be on the plaza at the Union Station.  Come make your own colorful nature print to take home.  Free!

Sunshine Breakfast to benefit the Ogden Nature Center

Come to the Ogden Nature Center for a sunny, summer breakfast in the backyard glen behind the Visitor Center.  Learn more about the Ogden Nature Center and the many programs that bring our community closer to nature.

Summer Nature Camps
The Ogden Nature Center is offering summer camps for age groups ranging from 2-16.  Join in the summer fun and expand your nature knowledge!  Single-day and multi-day adventure camps are available all summer long.  Registration is required.  For more information, pricing, and to register campers, please call 801-621-7595.  Full details and more camps in July and August are all posted online at www.ogdennaturecenter.org <http://www.ogdennaturecenter.org>

Full Week Camps in June:
Become immersed in the outdoors with a week-long nature camp!  Held from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Mon. – Weds. with an overnight campout starting at 6 pm Thursday and ending at 9 am Friday morning.  Dinner and breakfast are provided. After-hours care is available until 5 pm Mon. – Weds.  Tents and sleeping bags are available for students who do not own their own. Tents are shared with same gender campers only.
$150 - includes a camp T-shirt
Members receive a 10% discount, plus take an additional 10% off if your family signs up for more than one camp.

X-treme Eco-Expedition
Ages 11-14
June 9th – 13th
Think you know what it takes to survive in the wild? Challenge yourself in the ultimate nature adventure. Learn how to read nature and prepare yourself for survival using basic first aid, map reading, fire starting, leadership, tracking and shelter-building skills learned along the way. Conquer the compass and GPS, and put your skills to the test in an all-out, end-of-camp treasure hunt. Who will win in this wild adventure?

Wildlife Detectives
Ages 8-10
June 16th – June 20th
Investigate the wild side of nature! Solve clues, decipher codes and interpret maps as you spend the week exploring the mysterious world of animals. Nature crafts, animal games, hands-on investigation activities and an overnight campout make this an adventure you won’t want to miss.

Animal Explorers Day Camps in June:
June 23rd - 27th, -- pick one day or stay for the whole week
9 am – 12 noon
Ages 4-6
$18 per day
$6 for a camp T-shirt
Members receive a 10% discount, plus take an additional 10% off if your family signs up for more than one camp.
From tortoise scales to fox tails, campers will learn all about the animals and insects that call the Ogden Nature Center home. Pick one day or stay for the whole week. Either way campers are sure to have a blast learning and visiting with the scaly, slippery and feathery friends that live at the nature center.
