Salt City Float Spa

I received an email last September from Living Social that had a deal for Salt City Float Spa. I bought two, one for my husband and one for myself. I had recently, at that time, lost my son and was looking for something to help me relax and center myself.

I started to read about the benefits of the “float” and was intrigued. It is a sensory deprivation experience that has been said to help with anxiety, depression, stress, and other physical ailments. Due to life being hectic as normal, we were not able to schedule our float until now!

I do not know what to expect. I have read and re-read the information on the site several times since I bought the floats. I am afraid that I will not be able to shut my mind down so that the float is beneficial, I am afraid that even though the temperature is set at body temperature that I will be freezing in there. I cannot seem to warm up this winter!

I posted it to my Facebook and even had a few friends go try it out. I am not sure what was dragging my feet with making an appointment. But ready or not, we are finally scheduled for Valentine’s Day. We made a day date out of it.

I am excited for our float and I will be excited to tell you all about my experience! Stay tuned to Enjoy Utah to find out how our float was!

Some basic information from the site:

(The information below can change without our knowledge. Please verify on the Salt City Float Spa website for up to date and complete information.)

The “tank” that you float in is called an i-sopod that is filled with 300 gallons of water that has been heated to 95.9ยบ and 1200 lbs of Epsom Salt. A little background on Epsom salt that I found on their website is that it is a pure mineral compound in crystal form. The salt is good for your hair and skin. It also is absorbed through the skin to replenish the body’s magnesium levels. Some of the benefits of Epsom Salt is that it helps raise the body’s level of serotonin, it offsets levels of adrenaline that is created by pressure and stress.

Hours of operation and Location Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm. We are closed Sundays and Tuesdays.
