The Gateway Celebrates the Holidays With New Traditions

Salt Lake City, UT—Dec. 17, 2013—The holidays are officially underway at The Gateway shopping center and there are many fresh features for visitors to enjoy. In addition to the new seating areas complete with fire cauldrons to stave off the cold, The Gateway has new retailers that offer a unique shopping experience and new Santa traditions as well.

“This holiday season we are really celebrating our local retailers and the unique stores that are at The Gateway,” said Rochelle Fraser marketing director at The Gateway. “We have many stores that offer unique gift ideas that you can’t find anywhere else in Salt Lake City. Take for example, the gift baskets at Chili & Max and Mountain Town Olive and the French pastries at Bon Bon. Many of these places offer free tasting bars as well, so you can make an educated decision when choosing a gift.”

SantaChildren can visit Santa Clause at The Discovery Gateway Monday–Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Every child who visits Santa will receive a free lunch at either Jason’s Deli or the California Pizza Kitchen. In addition, kids can have breakfast with Santa every Saturday and Sunday through December 22. The breakfast includes play time in the museum with Santa before it opens to the public. Every Thursday through December 19 is pet night with Santa.

For those with tight purse strings, The Gateway is offering a chance for you to do all of your holiday shopping for free. The Gateway Refresh Facebook Photo contest runs through December 19 and the winner will receive a $500 shopping spree to The Gateway. Take a photo of yourself enjoying your favorite feature at The Gateway, post it to Facebook and tell us why you like that feature. Make sure to tag “@The Gateway” and/or use the hashtag “#shopthegateway.” The winner will be chosen on December 20 and announced on The Gateway Facebook page.
