Heber Valley Family Holiday Events 2013

MIDWAY, Utah (Dec. 3, 2013) – Heber Valley is offering a wide range of unique Christmas experiences for the 2013 holiday season, including many of Utah’s favorite traditions.

- Heber Valley Railroad’s North Pole Express, Nov. 29­–Dec. 24, Heber Valley Railroad, hebervalleyrr.org for tickets. Join Mr. and Mrs. Claus and a few elves on this magical ride that is guaranteed to sell out once again. 

- Santa Sleigh Ride at Homestead Resort, Nov. 30–Dec. 21, Homestead Resort, 435.671.9031 for reservations. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride to visit Santa in one of the most scenic places in Utah.

- Cottages for the Children (gingerbread house auction), Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wasatch County Events Center, FREE admission. Participate in a silent auction of hundreds of gingerbread houses. Visitors can also enjoy Christmas trees, wreaths and a remarkable craft fair perfect for holiday gifts. Children get to decorate and take home their own gingerbread man. 

- Midway’s Swiss Christmas, Dec. 6–7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Midway Town Hall, FREE admission. Enjoy browsing over 30 vendors selling unique gifts. A food tent will be set up between Town Hall and the Midway Community Center allowing visitors easy access to the Interfaith Creche Exhibit (see below). Singers, dancers and musicians will perform on Dec. 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday’s entertainment will include the Swiss Miss Royalty, ballet, Wasatch Suzuki Strings and the High Valley Singers.  Saturday’s entertainment will feature the Swiss Children’s Choir, the Kaelin Brothers, and Center Stage, in addition to several other performing groups.  Father and Mother Christmas will visit on Saturday, Dec. 7 from noon to 2 p.m. 

- Interfaith Creche Exhibit, Dec. 6–9 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Midway Community Center, FREE admission. Now celebrating its 15th year, this annual exhibit features nativities from around the world, musical performances and photos of children in Bible dress.
