Zermatt Resort To Host Chocolate Festival


Chocolate lovers will rejoice over chocolate-themed festivities and dinner

MIDWAY, UTAH (Feb. 15) — Zermatt Resort is hosting its first annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m. that will cause chocolate lovers to rejoice.

The festival will feature activities for the whole family. Local Utah chocolate makers including Hatch Family Chocolates, Fernwood Finest Candies, Food of the Gods Chocolatier, Chocolot and Homestead Fudge will feature unique displays and free samples for attendees. Premiering at the event is the Resorts’ Chocolate “LavaFlow,” a decadent dark hot chocolate drink. Also included in the festivities is a cupcake decorating station for kids and live music.

To complete the chocolate celebration, Z’s Steak and Chop Haus at the Zermatt will host a chocolate-themed dinner. To begin, dark chocolate and espelette soup will be served. Guests will then have a choice of entrees between basil and macadamia nut crusted halibut with white cocoa gnocchi and buttermilk chocolate sauce or cocoa-cured duck breast with wheatberries and Swiss chocolate and Pequillo pepper mole, mint chocolate chipped granita and Z’s famous chateaubriand with bittersweet-zinfandel sauce with mushroom tart and asparagus. Dessert will include warm cinnamon donuts with Swiss chocolate fondue and chocolate-covered pretzels.

A pre-dinner reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 435-709-9572. The dinner will be $59.99 per guest with wine pairings available for an additional $35.99.
