REVIEW: The Mystery Of The Lost Recipe

The Mystery Of The Lost Recipe is a book written by local Utah elementary school teacher, Jerome Jones. It's a cute book about a brother and sister team who like to help their community by solving mysteries.

While on their adventure of solving a mystery of a lost lasagna recipe, they talk about the importance of a having a good breakfast and eating healthy snacks.

Third grader, Allison, liked the character Abby because she felt she could relate to her, and she liked that she worked together with her brother to solve the mystery and find the lost recipe. First grader, Samuel, liked the pictures and that the the story was easy to understand.

I liked that the brother and sister team solved the mystery by working together and talking to the restaurant owner, and making a new friend in the end. They are "superheroes" in their community in a way, and their "super power" is eating good food while getting exercise and staying healthy.

The pictures were darling, and kept my kids' attention while reading it to them.

The author of the book, Jerome Jones, wrote the book while teaching his 4th grade class about nutrition and exercise. He believes in teaching and writing books that encourage children to read while inspiring them to do good things.

The Mystery Of The Lost Recipe book can be purchased online, or on your Amazon Kindle. Watch for it later this month on the Apple iBookstore.

I was provided with a free e-copy of the book to read to my children and write a review. I was not compensated in any way, or paid to give any specific type of review. The opinions and views expressed in this review are all my own.
