The City Library Hosts Youth Job Fair

April 25, 2012—Salt Lake City—The economic future can look bleak for high school and college students. As significant numbers of college graduates struggle to find gainful employment, it is more important than ever to have a strong resume, work experience and a degree to find that perfect career. To that end, The City Library is hosting a Youth Job Fair, May 3, 1-6pm.

Aimed at helping young adults take their first steps in the job market, the youth job fair will include a variety of workshops and lectures, as well as a discussion with Utah Jazz legend, Thurl Bailey. Associates from the Department of Workforce Services will be on-hand to assist in applying for jobs online, and the writing experts from the SLCC Community Writing Center will be available to help craft job-earning resumes.

Workshops include practice interviews, financial management, applicant profiles and more. Participants will be eligible for a wide array of prizes, drawn at the end of the fair.

This event is made possible with support from the Utah Department of Workforce Services, Lifting Youth to Future Employment, the Employment Connection Advisory Board, the SLCC Community Writing Center and Taco Bell.
