Massassoit

Massassoit "Friend To The Pilgrims" at the Utah State Capitol
Known as the "friend to the pilgrims", Massassoit was one of the first people to formally welcome the pilgrims to the new land. Have a "field trip" to the library to learn and read books about him, and then visit his statue at the Utah State Capitol. While you are there, you can take a free tour of the capitol. Many people pass by his statue every day, and don't even notice or know who he is. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to visit him at the capitol and use it as a learning "field trip" for your kids. He is located on the East side of the capitol. Why is this statue at our state capitol, if he never lived in this area? Find out HERE!

Dancing, tug o'war, and "fear factor" food sampling will wrap your family up in so much fun, they won't realize they are learning! New this year: Traditional 3-foot napkins with the Eat Like a Pilgrim insignia may be purchased upon exit for $1 each.
