ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is popular with fans for identifying families in need across the country and offering them a fresh start--a new home donated by their local community with the help of Ty Pennington and his team of celebrity designers. Like most Extreme Makeover: Home Edition projects, Holmes Homes will be building a brand new home in Daybreak from the ground up in just one week, starting June 23. The family will also be announced June 23 and the finished home will be revealed June 29. The episode will air on ABC sometime in the fall, and be part of the show’s 9th season, which will be moving to a new Friday evening timeslot.
As with each Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build, all labor and materials are donated. Rio Tinto’s Kennecott Utah Copper has donated a lot in Daybreak, and is coordinating the planning, donation and volunteer efforts. Holmes Homes has contributed to the site expense, design of the home and is working with their suppliers in donating labor and materials. However, a large portion of the project’s success will come from donations made from the broader community. The build team is now sending out a call to businesses and individuals across the valley to step up and join them in volunteering time, additional supplies, and money. On June 16 at 7 pm, the show’s producers will hold a Pep Rally at South Jordan City’s Fitness and Aquatic Center located at 10866 S. Redwood Rd. in South Jordan.
