Veterans Day 2010

Here are a few activities and special events to celebrate Veterans Day and honor our military men and women in Utah:

Parade and Memorablia Display. FREE events!

Golden Corral
Golden Corral restaurants are offering a free meal on Monday, Nov. 15 to anyone who has ever served in the U.S. military, including the National Guard and Reserves. Go here for details. The buffet-style restaurant chain has been offering this promotion for the last 10 years. Thanks OneCheapChick!

Applebee's
All veterans and active duty military eat free on Thursday, November 11th 2010.

FREE National Parks Admission
Don't forget: Admission to national parks, monuments and recreation areas throughout the country is free on Thursday, Nov. 11. University of Utah Veterans Day Commemoration
The day of the commemoration offers a full schedule of activities that are free and open to the public

Riverton City Veterans Day Program
Join Riverton City and the Riverton Jazz Band in honoring those who have served and are currently serving our country in the military. We invite you to the Annual Veteran’s Day Program on Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center Auditorium located at 12830 S 1700 W. Admission is FREE.

Sandy Senior Center Veterans Day Breakfast and Program
Thrs. November 11th - 8 a.m.
Seniors, veterans and their families are invited to enjoy free breakfast sponsored by The Wentworth Senior Management Concepts Group. A program beginning at 9:15 a.m. will include a bagpiper, color guard, speakers, Glee Club , Harmonica Katz, harpist and more. Come give tribute and honor all the veterans and their loved ones. Sponsored by the Utah Bereavement Coalition.

Provo City and Freedom Festival Partners Veterans Day Program
America’s Freedom Festival is pleased to partner with the Provo City Veterans Council to sponsor the 2010 Veterans Day Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. Held at the Covey Center for the Arts in downtown Provo, the celebration will feature former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes as the keynote speaker. World War II veteran and trumpet player Jack Tueller will also be honored.
The Veterans Day Celebration will also include the Posting of Colors by the Provo Police Department and the Pledge of Allegiance by a recent Eagle Scout. Following the program, a light, complimentary lunch will be provided by Marvelous Catering in the Provo City Center at 351 W. Center Street.

Brighton Resort
To honor veterans on Veterans Day, Brighton is offering any vet of active military free skiing on opening day. Present your Veteran card or military ID at the ticket window to get your free ticket.
