5^th Annual Utah Human Race to benefit Utah Food Bank

SALT LAKE CITY, November 10, 2010 -- Utahns looking to burn a few extra calories before digging into a Thanksgiving feast are in luck. The 5^th Annual Utah Human Race, benefiting Utah Food Bank, will take place at 8 a.m. on Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving Day) at Incredible Pizza located at the Draper Factory Outlets, 12101 Factory Outlet Dr. Sponsored by Siegfried & Jensen, the family-friendly walk/run has both 5K and 10K distances is open to the general public.

The Utah Human Race was started in 2006 by Draper resident Phil Goold who wanted to give back to his community. In that first year, 750 participants helped raise $5,000 and now the Utah Human Race ranks as one of Utah's largest annual fun run/walks. In 2009, the Utah Human Race hosted 3,500 participants who helped raise $50,000 for Utah Food Bank.

Early registration (before Nov. 21) is $15 per individual (includes one t-shirt) and $65 per family (up to eight individuals and includes up to five shirts). From Nov. 20 though Nov. 25, the fee is $12 per individual and $55 per family. On-site registration fees are $14 per individual and $60 per family taking place on Wednesday, Nov. 25 from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 26 from 7-8 a.m.
