Discovery Gateway: The Children’s Museum of Utah Hosts Largest Downtown Children’s
Festival in Salt Lake City

The fifth annual Bumble Bee Bash Children’s Festival Fundraiser celebrates the arrival of summer with
a day-long event for kids

Salt Lake City, UT – Discovery Gateway: The Children’s Museum of Utah will host its fifth Annual
Bumble Bee Bash Children’s Festival at The Gateway Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Bumble Bee Bash, which is the largest downtown children’s festival in Salt Lake City, is a day-long
event that celebrates children and the vibrancy of downtown Salt Lake City.

The day will be filled with entertainment in the courtyard and throughout the museum. Entertainers will
include: MusicGarage.Org, Bellydancing by Thia, ADC Irish Dancers, Utah Puppet Players, Zumba
Kids Jr., Mike Hamilton Magic with a Message, and Wasatch Music Coaching. Science and art-themed
educational activities will also be offered. Picture It photo booths will be available, and the festivities
will end with a play by Youthstage Students from Utah Children’s Theater. Several food trucks,
including Off the Grid SLC, Georgia Boy Food Truck, Rabadue’s Saucey Skillet, Salt City Dogs,
Submarino’s, and Sweeto Burrito will be located on 100 South during the event.

Tickets are $5 for Discovery Gateway members. Non-member tickets are $10. Tickets are available
online at discoverygateway.org, in advance at the museum or on the day of the event. Each family will
receive a free all-day parking validation and a grab bag of promotions and discounts from Gateway
retailers.

All proceeds from the Bumble Bee Bash support Discovery Gateway’s educational programs and
exhibits. The support generated at this fundraiser will help serve more than 300,000 children, parents,
and educators across Utah and the Intermountain West.

Additional fundraising opportunities include a plinko-style game for a chance to win local prizes. Guests
will also be able to enter opportunity drawings for prize packages valued between $300 and $1,000.
