REVIEW: Nightmare On 13th Haunted House

Nightmare on 13th 1

We keep Chad and Jen busy this time of year checking out all of the best haunted houses in Utah to report on which ones are worth visiting. The results are in……..Nightmare On 13th Haunted House is a definite MUST for 2013! Here is Chad’s review:

Friday night we got the chance to check out Nightmare on 13th haunted house. This has been one of my favorite places to go to for many years and it would not seem like Halloween without it. Nightmare on 13th is starting to feel like such a large tradition in my life that having Halloween without it would be like Thanksgiving without turkey, Christmas without presents, or 4th of July without fireworks.

Each year I go expecting to have a similar experience as last year but they keep changing it and it is always better than the year before.

When we got to the parking lot the parking lot attendants directing traffic helped eliminate any confusion about where to park since I was to excited to concentrate on my driving. After seeing the changes to the outside of the building with the new dragon guarding the entrance my curiosity took over and I started imaging what new horrors waited for me inside.

We skipped the line and went in the VIP entrance. It costs extra, but when you have waited a year to get in this building again it is worth it. Each group gets their picture taken with a hideous character from the haunted house, and that picture is available in digital form, if you make it out of the haunted house.

Nightmare On 13th Haunted House is split up into three sections this year: 13 Levels of Fear, Mutant, and Dark Harvest.

  • 13 Levels of Fear is an area that is sure to find at least that one fear that no matter how much you tell yourself you don’t need to be afraid it still just makes you shake, sweat, and want to turn around. They have set up sections for people that are afraid of heights, afraid of the dark, afraid of small spaces, afraid of clowns, afraid of dolls, and many more. If you feel you don’t have a true fear of something this area will be sure to make you aware of it.
  • Dark Harvest transports you into a world with evil plant like beings that are terrorizing everything that tries to escape them. In this farm land you will feel as if all the plants are out to get revenge on humans and harvest us for food or possibly just to torture us.
  • Mutant lets you experience a factory that has just had a horrible accident. Anyone or anything that has came in contact with the hazardous waist is hiding in this area with uncontrolled rage and will do anything to escape the military that is hunting them. Try to get out of this nightmare before these mutants get you and make sure not to get caught up in all the crossfire from the large machine guns that it takes to slow these mutants down.

I had a great time at Nightmare on 13th and am excited to see what they can think up for next year. I know I will be there to see how much they can scare me. It is very obvious why this haunt is such a famous place in Utah and why they are continually considered one of the best.
