45-Foot Ice Climbing Wall Now Open In Midway

45-FOOT ICE CLIMBING WALL
OPENS IN MIDWAY, UTAH

More than 200,000 pounds of ice offer climbing enthusiasts a unique experience

MIDWAY, UTAH (Jan. 22, 2013) — The Midway Adventure Co. has created a 45-foot ice climbing wall, one of only a few in North America. The wall opened to the general public Monday,  Jan. 21.

The ice climbing wall was built by freezing water from a garden hose and a custom sprinkling system over a two-week period. The wall offers climbing enthusiasts a unique and safe climbing experience, with all the ropes and equipment already in place.

“As an avid climber, I have thought about creating this for many years,” said Drew Jenkins, founder of Midway Adventure Co.  “Creating what I call my own backyard Everest really appeals to my adventure side, and my hope is that others will experience the thrill of this sport as well.”
