DATE NIGHT: Museum Of Peoples and Cultures

Culture-Me-Mine: A Date Night at the Museum

BYU’s Museum of Peoples and Cultures (MPC) invites couples on campus to come to its “Culture-Me-Mine” date night and experience a night of culture, crafts, and fun.  This date night will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18.

Couples will have the opportunity to learn about the MPC’s two current exhibitions: “Entwined: A Vibrant Heritage of the Modern Maya” and our new exhibition, “Concealing Faces, Revealing Expressions: A student curated exhibition on Mexican masks,” through activities and games.  These activities will include a “Get to Know Your Date” worksheet, a game of “Couples Feud”, and a scavenger hunt. Couples will make and keep clay sculptures, and then have the opportunity to compete for prizes.  The evening will end with light refreshments and an award ceremony.

“This date night gives people a chance to do something outside of the box,” Anna McKean, promotions manager at the MPC, said.  “Couples always seem to have a great time.”

Tickets for “Culture-Me-Mine” are $10 a couple and will be available for purchase at the WSC information desk beginning Monday, May 14.

For more information, visit facebook.com/byu.mpc, or contact the museum at 801.422.0020 or mpc@byu.edu.  The Museum of Peoples and Cultures is located on 100 E. 700 N.
