Senior Movie Afternoons

Join us the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month for our series featuring films about and starring seniors. We’ll show some of your old favorites, as well as newer releases destined to become classics. All films begin at 2 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium, except where noted. You don’t have to be a “senior” yourself to attend—adults of all ages are welcome!

Schedule of Events:

Jan 11: To Catch a Thief
Cary Grant, a retired jewel thief on the French Riviera, tries to prove his innocence by exposing a burglar that is impersonating him. Also stars Grace Kelly.

Jan 25: no screening

Feb 8: Love is a Many-Splendored Thing
A war correspondent (William Holden) and a Eurasian doctor ( Jennifer Jones) fall in love in Hong Kong. But it all ends when he is sent to cover the Korean War.

Feb 22: no screening

Mar 14: El Dorado
Robert Mitchum stars as an alcoholic sheriff who appeals to an old friend (John Wayne) who’s become a gunfighter to help him fight the greedy cattlemen in town.

Mar 28: Above and Beyond
Col. Paul W. Tibbets, Jr. (Robert Taylor) is asked to work on the atomic bomb project and fly the Enola Gay B-29, the plane that delivers the bomb to be dropped on Japan.
