FREE Parenting/Family Classes

Guiding Good Choices™ workshop is a proven-effective prevention program for every family. It is organized in a series of 5 fun interactive seminars that prepares parents to help their children as they transition into the teen years. In controlled studies, Guiding Good Choices™ has been shown to: 

• Reduce alcohol and marijuana use by 40.6%
• Reduce progression to more serious substance abuse by 54%
• Increase the likelihood that nonusers will remain drug-free by 26%
• Reduce the likelihood that young people will commit delinquent acts

Curriculum

*Session 1 – Getting Started:
How to Prevent Drug Use in Your Family

*Session 2 – Setting Guidelines: 
How to Develop Healthy Beliefs and Clear Standards

*Session 3 – Avoiding Trouble:
How Kids Say No to Drugs and Problem Behavior
(Children ages 9-17 attend this class with the parents)

*Session 4 – Managing Conflict:
How to Control and Express Your Anger Constructively

*Session 5 – Involving Everyone:
How to Strengthen Family Bonds

Program Length: 5 weekly two-hour workshops
Cost: FREE
Available to: Parents of children 9-17 yrs old
