Winter Photography Workshop
Tuesday, November 8 from 6:30 - 8 pm
Cost: $5 Ogden Nature Center members
$7 non-members
Ages: 12+
Join locally acclaimed photographer Larry Carr as he gives pointers on how to photograph nature in winter. This workshop will cover the basics such as composition and light for both digital and film photography. Bring your own camera and your questions. Wild Wednesdays -- In Honor: A Special Veterans Day Program

Free for ONC members

All ages welcome!
Join us for our annual celebration of Veteran's Day as we discuss the history of this special holiday. Our resident Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te, will be on hand as we honor our veterans. Meet in the Visitor Center.

Wild Wednesdays -- Owl Tales

Are owls really wise? Get the answer to that question and many others as we meet three different owls and decode the mysteries that surround these amazing birds. Meet in the Visitor Center.

Scout Saturday
Saturday, November 19
Each session is designed to help scouts achieve merit badges.
$5 per scout per session
9 am - Native vs. Invasive: Filling a requirement for the Naturalist badge, we help scouts identify 10 native plants/animals and non-native species using field guides and scavenger hunts.
10 am - Conservation: Scouts will learn what conservation officers do, why they are nessesary, the role they played in history and how one becomes a conservation officer.
11 am - Venomous Reptiles: Scouts will learn how to identify the difference between a venomous and non-venomous species with an up-close encounter with a live, non-venomous snake.
For all Scout Saturday sessions pre-registration is required for all participants. Pre-payment is also required for anyone registering a group of 5 or more students. A class minimum of 5 scouts is required to hold the class. If 5 or more scouts are not registered by 2 pm on the Friday before the class, registered participants will be notified of the cancellation by phone.

Walkers, Trotters, Creepers, Crawlers -- Preschool Discovery Days

$4 for Nature Center members
$5 for non-members
(Includes one child and one adult chaperone)
A non-refundable deposit of 50% must be paid in advance to pre-register groups of 5 children or more.
Ages: 3-5
Explore the world of creatures that crawl -- on many legs, four legs or no legs at all! Find footprints and patterns on the ground, share songs, stories, games and a craft all about moving through nature. Pre-registration is required. Please call 801-621-7595. Space is limited.

Wild Wednesdays -- Gobble, Gobble: Come Celebrate Thanksgiving

Are you a natural gobbler? Test your gobbling skills against the Ogden Nature Center's three resident turkeys (appropriately named Tom, Tommy, and Thomas). The more you learn about these unique birds the faster you'll discover there is more to the turkey than meets the palate. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Join us as our Golden Eagle, Sundance, makes his first Wild Wednesday appearance! Our resident Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te, will also be on hand as we learn about these two amazing birds. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Up-cycling T-Shirts Workshop
Wednesday, November 30 from 6 - 8 pm
Cost: $8 Ogden Nature Center members
$10 non-members
Ages: 12 +
Ever had a great idea for a t-shirt? At the Ogden Nature Center you can learn how to put your ideas onto your very own shirt. Putting new designs on old shirts saves money, reduces waste, and is just plain fun. With a little creativity, humor, and patience you'll have a new shirt by the end of the night! Please provide your own t-shirt for printing. Shirts may be new or old, but in good condition. Participants are welcome to bring their own designs for printing as well. Designs should be simple, black & white, and have minimal detail to simplify the process. Space is limited. Please pre-register by November 29 at 5 pm to 801-621-7595.

The Ogden Nature Center will be closed on Thursday, November 24 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will be open on Friday, November 25.

Class sizes are limited to ensure a quality experience. Call in reservations over the phone and pay with a credit card or come in person to pay with cash or checks. The Ogden Nature Center reserves the right to change instructors or cancel classes due to circumstances beyond our control including, illness, inclement weather or low attendance.
