Cut Your Own Christmas Tree

Starting today, permits are being issued to those that want to cut down their own Christmas trees. The permits will be given out between today and December 23rd 2011, OR until they are sold out, whichever comes first.
Hurry and get your before they sell out! Here's how:

Price: $10

Limitations: 

• 3 permits per person; 
• Must purchase by check or cash in the exact amount. Forest Service offices cannot take credit or debit cards or make change. 
• No refunds are allowed 
• Should purchase permit from the district where you plan to cut your tree(s). Ferron/Price Map Sanpete Map 
• Authorization to cut a tree over 8 feet tall must be obtained from a district office prior to purchase and will cost an extra 50 cents for each foot greater than 8 feet, to be paid at the time the permit is purchased.

How to Purchase:

All purchasers will be issued a tag(s), cutting instructions and a map.

By mail, at a Forest Service office, or at a local vendor

By Mail:

Send an order including the number of tree permits you want to buy, your name, address, phone number, and a check for $10/per permit made out to the USDA Forest Service. Please send your order to the district (listed below) where you wish to cut the tree(s). A permit will be sent by return mail. If you wish to cut a tree taller than 8 feet, you may request authorization by mail and increase the amount of your check for the additional cost.
