Fun Activities Now at Snowbird

Snowbird is gearing up for the busy ski season in a few months, but did you know that right now you can enjoy many fun summer activities?

The all-day activities pass is a great way to experience all that Snowbird has to offer right now. You can also use your Salt Lake Connect Pass for a ride on the tram.

Below are just some of the fun activities you can enjoy right now at Snowbird.
(Information taken from Snowbird website)

Alpine Slide
The Alpine Slide winds down Chickadee Run through twists, turns and tunnels. It starts near the top of Snowbird Entry 4 and finishes 1,300 linear feet later near the Snowbird Center. Practiced and inexperienced sliders alike will enjoy the ride down the twisting, turning, dual track slide – the driver controls the speed. No special skills are needed.

Aerial Tram Rides (Included in your Salt Lake Connect Pass)
First opened in 1971, Snowbird’s Aerial tram whisks passengers along a 1.6 mile cable and up 2900 vertical feet during the 10 minute trip to the top of Hidden Peak. Tram riders can look up canyon toward Alta and down into the Salt Lake Valley below while passing over thousands of wildflowers and mountainsides of green. There is no more spectacular vista in the Rockies than the view from atop Hidden Peak. And certainly not one that is so easily accessible! During the ascent your tram operator will offer a short commentary, describing the tram and surrounding points of interest. The round trip can be done in 40 minutes, including about 20 minutes of sightseeing on Hidden Peak, but guests may spend as long on the peak as they wish.

ZipRider
Accessed by the Chickadee lift, the ZipRider carries harnessed riders over 1,000 linear feet down a suspended cable from the top of Chickadee to the Snowbird Center.

Ropes Course
Fasten yourself into a harness and take a walk high above ground on our Ropes Course. Located near the Chickadee Bowl this course might challenge your fear of heights and your sense of balance.

Bungy Trampoline
Come experience the fun of Euro-Bungy on the Plaza Deck. Another great activity at Snowbird, the official resort of summer. The Bungy Trampoline requires no previous experience and is a fun activity for people of all ages and abilities. You must meet weight requirements in order to ride (35lbs-230lbs).

Whether you start from the Snowbird Center or ride the Aerial Tram and start on Hidden Peak, you’ll find hiking in the Wasatch Mountains to be a rewarding experience. Snowbird’s extensive network of trails provides near-limitless opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. Snowbird also features a wheelchair accessible, Barrier Free Trail. This stunning one mile round-trip nature walk begins at the Snowbird Plaza and ends up at a beautiful observation deck overlooking the Gad Valley. Adults and children of all ages and abilities can enjoy this low impact hike.

Fishing Pond

After a brief orientation, your scenic journey begins. Helmets and water are provided, along with photo opportunities.

Polaris Ranger Tours
Have you ever wanted to explore the beauty of the wildflowers but wish you could do it on wheels? Here’s your chance. Snowbird and Highcountry Exploring have teamed up to bring you the Ranger Wildflower Tours.

Rafting
Experience Utah rafting and awesome canyon scenery on a one day rafting trip through Split Mountain Gorge in Dinosaur National Monument. This is an ideal addition to a family vacation, children 6 years and older are welcome. Split Mountain trips have class III Intermediate rapids.

Mechanical Bull
Indulge your inner cowboy with Snowbird’s mechanical bull, “Black Jack”. Expert and beginner riders alike will thrill to the experience of saddling up on this 1200 lb, hydraulic, Black Angus bull. No experience is necessary and operators can dial in any level of bucking intensity from mild to WILD! If you do get tossed off the bull you are sure to land comfortably on the 400 square feet of thick foam padding that makes up our bull ring. Keep in mind, the bull is for ages 7 and older only.

Peruvian Chair and Tunnel
