A 2 part course teaching beginning to advanced skills

*This course is intended for individuals who already have a basic knowledge of computers.

March 1 – Part 1: Introduction to Blogs

1. Understand what a blog is and the basic parts of a blog
2. Create a blog
3. Be able to edit your blog profile
4. Post to your blog

March 1 – Part 2: Images, Comments, and Settings

1. Add an image to your blog
2. Manage comments on your blog and make comments on others' blogs
3. Change the title, address, and description of your blog
4. Delete your blog
5. Change blog posting permissions
6. Change privacy settings on your blog
7. Format basic date and archive

March 8 – Part 1: Design and Customization

1. Change your blog's design, background, layout, and colors
2. Rearrange blog elements on your blog template
3. Add Blogger gadgets to your blog
4. Add Pages to your blog
5. Recognize HTML and use it to make basic changes to your posts
6. Insert HTML code for templates, gadgets, and widgets into your blog

March 8 – Part 2: RSS, Blog Promotion, and Stat Trackers

1. Understand RSS and Feed Readers
2. Know how to sign up for a Feed Reader
3. Understand search engine optimization (SEO) and how to promote your blog
4. Know how to find other blogs and use blog directories
5. Know how to use stat trackers on your blog
