The Deseret News reports the magazine's December issue also ranked the city tops in cleanliness and safety, and No. 2 for family vacations and affordability.
Travelers and residents polled rated Salt Lake 15th overall among 35 cities.
It ranked No. 3 in parks and access to outdoors, No. 4 for peace and quiet, public transportation and pedestrian-friendly environment and No. 5 in people categories such as attractiveness, friendliness and athletic/active.
