Get Organized (GO) Part Three: Space

Part Two of a Four-Part Series on Getting Organized from local professional cleaner and organizer, Jeanie Bigham:

Getting Organized Hurdle #3: SPACE
"Small rooms or dwellings discipline the mind, large ones weaken it." -Leonardo Da Vinci

Another excuse I hear often is not having enough space to keep things organized. Here in America we all suffer from stuffititis. We work our fingers to the bone to buy stuff, store stuff and to keep stuff looking nice.

I live in a 1,000 square foot house that has very little storage. Sometimes I wish I had a bigger house so I could have more room to stay organized; however, I clean many homes that are over 4,000 square feet and they are just as disorganized as the smaller homes.

My tip for small space is get rid of it! No, not your home, your stuff! Simplify! You may think all those toys make your kids happy, but if mom is constantly yelling at them about their toys being everywhere those toys are not making them happy.

If you get overwhelmed give me a call. It's always a good idea to get an outside person with no attachments to your stuff to help you organize. To check out me and my cleaning/organizing business, go to my website. I will gladly come to your rescue!
