The Antiquities Section of the Utah Division of State History will offer a free workshop on the archaeology of Utah on Saturday, November 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshop, taught by Antiquities Section archaeologists, will provide an overview of the last 13,000 years of Utah’s human history. Topics will range from the earliest humans to live in Utah to the 1,000-year-old Fremont village sites beneath the streets of modern Salt Lake City. The class is free and open to all members of the public; children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The class will be held at the Rio Grande Depot, 300 S. Rio Grande Street (at 450 West) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Space is limited and participants must pre-register for the class by contacting Utah’s Assistant State Archaeologist Ron Rood at rrood@utah.gov. Put “November Class” in the subject line of the e-mail.
