Red Butte Gardens - Family Nights

Family Nights
Mondays, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Shows start at 6:00 pm & 7:00 pm

This year Monday Family Nights will be filled with colors, sounds, music and dance from around the world. Local Utah cultural groups from diverse backgrounds will provide a wonderful night to enjoy the music and dance from their heritage while children enjoy crafts and activities associated with the many cultures. Join us as we explore the world of diversity in our own community!

Bring a picnic and a blanket and spend the evening in the Garden with your family. All performances will be held in Amphitheater, enter through the Visitor Center. Tram service is available.

Regular Garden Admission/Members Free
Monday Family Night Rate $24(Includes 2 adults and up to 4 children)

July 5th:
Utah Ko' Triskalariak
Basque music and dance. The club has existed for over 35 years in the Salt Lake valley and continues to cultivate the unique Basque culture with dance and music. Visit www.utah-basque.com for more information.

July 12:
Hawaiian Cultural Center
Music and dance of the Hawaiian islands. Native Hawaiian people teach and share the hula (dance), 'olelo (language), mo'olelo (history), mele (music), and Spirit of Aloha. Visit www.hawaiianculturalcenter.org for more information.

July 19:
Khemera Dance Troupe with the Vietnamese Volunteer Youth Lion Dancers
Music and dance of Cambodia and the Lion dancing of Vietnam. Since spring of 2000, the Khemera Dance Troupe has provided Cambodian-Americans with introduction and education in the art of Cambodian classical and folk dances. Visit www.khemera.net for more information.

July 26:
Salt Lake Capoeira
Music and dance of Brazil. Capoeira is a unique and vibrant Afro-Brazilian martial art which cultivates movement, culture, music and philosophy. Visit www.saltlakecapoeira.com for more information.

August 2:
German Chorus Harmonie & German American Society
Music and dance of Germany. Together these two organizations perpetuates Utah's German heritage through music and dance since the mid twentieth century.

August 9:
Bollywood Dance Group
Music and Dance of India. University of Utah students perform and promote various dance styles from traditional to western infused dance of different regions of India.
